How to Join NDA?


Selection Process of NDA

NDA is National Defence Academy. It is joint service academy of Indian Armed Force. The NDA is located at Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra. It is first tri service academy in the world.

The NDA exam has been released for the students who prepare for NDA exam. NDA exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service commission) two times in every year for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force. Generally in month of April and November. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for NDA exam.

For joining of NDA, a candidate must be appear in the entrance exam. For joining of NDA, one must clear written test followed by SSB, medical and finally to be in merit list.

Selection Process: The selection process is based on NDA Written Exam and SSB Interview.


Written Exam: The written exam is first step of selection process. The NDA Written Exam is divided into two parts: first is Mathematics and other is General Ability. Each subject is given the time limit 2 ½ hours.  Maximum marks for maths is 300 and general ability is 600. The papers in all subjects will consist of objective type questions.

SSB Interview: After clearing the written exam you will be called for a 5 days interview process by SSB. It is the final step of selection process. In the whole selection process of NDA, it is the most difficult stage. The SSB goes on for 5 days and your mental abilities will be tested on each day of this test.

Medical Exam: A medical exam by a Service Medical Board (SMC). Only those candidates are admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the medical.
